Our Little Honeybee Farm
in Sugar Hill, GA
Apiary: a place where bees are kept.
Our forest-lined backyard apiary is nature’s playground for our local honeybees in Georgia. With flowers, gardens, and a family watching over them, our hives receive sincere attention and favor.
Our bee hives, or bee boxes, are located behind our home, which enables us to provide attention and support when needed. We can better monitor activity, oversee unique behaviors, secure swarm situations, view pollen intake, check water sources, conduct hive inspections more efficiently, and feed when appropriate. Having multiple hives in the bee yard allows us to compare colonies, equalize hives, better support splits, and borrow resources for a weaker colony.
The wood-lined apiary provides protection, food, sunlight, and shade. The forest supplies a natural environment for foraging, while numerous gardens offer a variety of plants and flowers to pollinate. Meet our honeybees!
